infinityavenue asked: Hey there
I was wondering how you made your drum kit light up?
There is a light in the kick drum. It’s like an internal lamp, or sorts. There is a lamp fixture on the end of a hollow metal tube, to keep the light from swinging inside of the drum (and potentially smashing against the inside). The power cable comes up through the badge port hole, where the metal rod is bolted.
This kick drum is from the 1940s, when real calf skin was still widely used. Putting a light inside the kick drum not only looked cool, it would warm up the heads to get a nicer sound out of the calf skin heads.
